The expansion builds heavily upon the Ancient and Future Pokémon introduced in Paradox Rift while bringing several newly discovered Paradox Pokémon into the Pokémon TCG for the first time.

Booster Box Contents

Each Pokémon TCG: Scarlet & Violet—Temporal Forces Booster Box contains:

  • 36 × Scarlet & Violet—Temporal Forces Booster Packs
  • 10 Pokémon TCG cards per Booster Pack
  • 360 Pokémon TCG cards across the 36 packs

Each Scarlet & Violet-era booster pack also includes a Basic Energy card.

Cards and rarities are randomly inserted. Specific Pokémon, cards, rarities or pull rates are not guaranteed within an individual Booster Box.

Ancient & Future Pokémon Collide

Temporal Forces continues one of the defining themes of the Scarlet & Violet era: Ancient and Future Pokémon.

Ancient Pokémon appear as creatures connected to a distant prehistoric past, while Future Pokémon feature futuristic designs suggesting advanced technology and machinery.

These two groups aren't simply visual themes. Ancient and Future classifications also interact with specific Trainer cards and gameplay strategies, allowing players to construct decks around either side of the temporal divide.

Temporal Forces expands both groups with powerful new Pokémon ex and supporting cards.

Walking Wake ex

One of the headline Pokémon of Temporal Forces is Walking Wake ex.

This mysterious Ancient Pokémon resembles Suicune while taking on a much more prehistoric appearance.

Walking Wake was originally introduced to the Pokémon Scarlet video game before making its way into the Pokémon TCG.

Temporal Forces gives Walking Wake multiple collectible treatments, including a spectacular Special Illustration Rare, making it one of the expansion's major Ancient Pokémon targets.

Raging Bolt ex

Another major Ancient Pokémon arrives in the form of Raging Bolt ex.

Raging Bolt bears a striking resemblance to the Legendary Pokémon Raikou, but its elongated, prehistoric appearance creates one of the most unusual Paradox Pokémon designs.

Alongside Walking Wake ex, Raging Bolt ex gives collectors two major Ancient Legendary-inspired Pokémon to discover throughout Temporal Forces.

Raging Bolt ex would also become a significant competitive Pokémon TCG card, particularly when combined with other Ancient Pokémon and Energy-acceleration strategies.

Iron Leaves ex

Representing the Future side is Iron Leaves ex.

Iron Leaves is a futuristic Paradox Pokémon resembling Virizion, combining the recognisable silhouette of the Legendary Pokémon with the mechanical aesthetic associated with Future Pokémon.

Its premium Special Illustration Rare provides one of the expansion's major Future Pokémon collector targets.

Iron Crown ex

Iron Crown ex joins Iron Leaves as another headline Future Pokémon.

Resembling Cobalion, Iron Crown combines a Legendary-inspired design with the futuristic visual identity established throughout the Scarlet & Violet Series.

Its Special Illustration Rare depicts Iron Crown within an atmospheric scene surrounded by blossoming trees, creating one of Temporal Forces' distinctive premium illustrations.

Iron Crown ex also offers support for Future Pokémon strategies through its Cobalt Command Ability, reinforcing the expansion's Ancient-versus-Future gameplay theme.

Legendary Pokémon Reimagined

Temporal Forces continues the fascinating concept of reinterpreting familiar Legendary Pokémon through Ancient and Future forms.

Collectors familiar with Pokémon such as:

  • Suicune
  • Raikou
  • Virizion
  • Cobalion

can discover dramatically different Paradox interpretations through:

  • Walking Wake
  • Raging Bolt
  • Iron Leaves
  • Iron Crown

This gives Temporal Forces a distinctive identity while creating natural collecting groups for fans of Legendary and Paradox Pokémon.

The Return of ACE SPEC Cards

One of the biggest gameplay developments in Temporal Forces is the return of ACE SPEC cards.

Originally introduced during the Pokémon TCG's Black & White era, ACE SPEC cards feature extremely powerful effects balanced by a strict deck-building restriction:

A player may include only one ACE SPEC card in their entire deck.

Temporal Forces brings the mechanic into the modern Pokémon TCG with an unmistakable magenta card design.

The expansion introduces 7 ACE SPEC cards:

  • 6 Trainer cards
  • 1 Special Energy card

Their return makes Temporal Forces an important expansion in the evolution of Scarlet & Violet-era gameplay.

Master Ball ACE SPEC

Among the returning ACE SPEC concepts is the powerful Master Ball.

Like its video game counterpart, Master Ball is designed to provide exceptionally strong Pokémon-searching utility.

Its ACE SPEC status means players must decide whether the benefit of Master Ball is worth using their deck's single ACE SPEC allowance.

Prime Catcher

Prime Catcher is another important ACE SPEC card introduced in Temporal Forces.

Its powerful switching effect quickly made it a significant competitive card, allowing players to manipulate both their opponent's Active Pokémon and their own.

Prime Catcher demonstrates exactly why ACE SPEC cards carry the one-per-deck restriction: their effects can substantially influence the course of a match.

Hero's Cape

Hero's Cape offers another approach to the ACE SPEC mechanic.

Rather than focusing on searching or switching, Hero's Cape provides a substantial HP increase to the Pokémon it is attached to.

This allows players to use their single ACE SPEC slot in very different ways depending on the strategy of their deck.

Type-Shifted Tera Pokémon ex

Temporal Forces also continues the Tera Pokémon ex mechanic.

Among the expansion's notable Tera Pokémon ex are type-shifted versions of familiar Pokémon, including:

  • Wugtrio ex
  • Farigiraf ex

These Pokémon appear with different types from what collectors might normally expect, reflecting the flexibility of Terastallization in the Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet video games.

Gengar ex

Fan-favourite Ghost-type Pokémon Gengar returns as Gengar ex.

Gengar has remained one of the most recognisable Pokémon since the original Kanto generation, and Temporal Forces provides another modern Pokémon ex interpretation of the mischievous Ghost Pokémon.

Its artwork captures Gengar's distinctive personality, giving Gengar collectors another card to search for within the Scarlet & Violet Series.

Torterra ex

Sinnoh's fully evolved Grass-type partner Pokémon appears as Torterra ex.

Torterra ex brings considerable durability into the Pokémon TCG, while also giving collectors of the Diamond, Pearl and Platinum generation a new ex card to discover.

Incineroar ex

The final Evolution of Litten also joins the expansion as Incineroar ex.

Representing the Alola generation, Incineroar adds even more generational variety to a set already heavily focused on the new Paradox Pokémon.

Alongside Torterra ex and other returning favourites, it ensures Temporal Forces isn't limited exclusively to Pokémon originating from Paldea.

Illustration Rare Pokémon

Temporal Forces continues the Scarlet & Violet Series' focus on Illustration Rare cards.

These cards replace traditional backgrounds with detailed full-card scenes, allowing artists to explore the personality, habitat and story surrounding individual Pokémon.

The expansion includes numerous Illustration Rares spanning Pokémon from several generations.

For collectors who prioritise artwork rather than simply Pokémon ex or competitive cards, Illustration Rares provide an extensive secondary collection within Temporal Forces.

Special Illustration Rare Pokémon ex

At the premium end of the expansion are the Special Illustration Rare Pokémon ex.

Several of Temporal Forces' headline Ancient and Future Pokémon receive these treatments, including:

  • Walking Wake ex
  • Raging Bolt ex
  • Iron Leaves ex
  • Iron Crown ex

These cards combine the Pokémon ex mechanic with full-card illustrations, creating some of the expansion's most recognisable collector pieces.

Collecting all four creates a particularly impressive representation of Temporal Forces' central past-versus-future theme.

Trainer Special Illustration Rares

Pokémon aren't the only cards receiving premium artwork.

Temporal Forces includes Trainer cards with Special Illustration Rare treatments, giving character collectors additional cards to search for alongside the Ancient and Future Pokémon.

The Scarlet & Violet rarity structure places greater emphasis on storytelling through artwork, and these Trainer cards continue that approach with scenes built around the personalities and environments of their featured characters.

Over 160 Cards

The main Temporal Forces expansion contains over 160 cards, before its extensive selection of secret-numbered collector cards.

Official expansion highlights include:

  • Over 160 cards
  • More Ancient Pokémon
  • More Future Pokémon
  • More than a dozen brand-new Pokémon ex
  • Type-shifted Tera Pokémon ex
  • 7 ACE SPEC cards
  • 6 ACE SPEC Trainer cards
  • 1 ACE SPEC Special Energy card
  • Dozens of Pokémon and Trainer cards with special illustrations

This combination creates a substantial checklist for players, set collectors and master-set collectors.

Paradox Pokémon Collection

For collectors who enjoy Paradox Pokémon, Temporal Forces is an especially important Scarlet & Violet expansion.

It builds directly upon the Ancient and Future themes of Paradox Rift and introduces several of the Legendary-inspired Paradox Pokémon that were revealed later in Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet.

That makes Temporal Forces a natural companion set to Paradox Rift.

Together, the two expansions contain a broad selection of Ancient and Future Pokémon representing the mysterious creatures associated with Area Zero.

36 Temporal Forces Booster Packs

Every factory-sealed Booster Box contains:

36 Booster Packs × 10 Pokémon TCG Cards = 360 Pokémon TCG Cards

The Booster Box provides the traditional full-display opening experience for an English Pokémon TCG expansion.

Across the 36 included packs, collectors have opportunities to discover cards from throughout the Temporal Forces rarity structure, including:

  • Pokémon ex
  • Ancient Pokémon
  • Future Pokémon
  • Tera Pokémon ex
  • ACE SPEC cards
  • Illustration Rares
  • Ultra Rares
  • Special Illustration Rares
  • Hyper Rares

Specific cards or quantities of individual rarities are not guaranteed.

A Major Scarlet & Violet Expansion

Temporal Forces represents an important point in the development of the Scarlet & Violet Series.

It expands the Ancient and Future mechanics introduced in Paradox Rift while simultaneously bringing ACE SPEC cards back to the Pokémon TCG for the first time in many years.

That combination gives the expansion significance for both collectors and competitive players.

The Legendary-inspired Paradox Pokémon provide the visual centrepiece, while the return of ACE SPEC fundamentally expanded deck-building choices during the Scarlet & Violet era.

Why Collect Temporal Forces?

Scarlet & Violet—Temporal Forces brings together two major elements of Pokémon TCG history: the new Paradox Pokémon of the Scarlet & Violet generation and the returning ACE SPEC mechanic from the Black & White era.

At the centre of the expansion are four striking Legendary-inspired Paradox Pokémon.

Walking Wake ex and Raging Bolt ex represent an ancient past, while Iron Leaves ex and Iron Crown ex provide their futuristic counterparts. Their Special Illustration Rare cards create a natural four-card group that captures the central theme of Temporal Forces.

The expansion also has plenty to discover outside the Paradox Pokémon lineup. Gengar, Torterra and Incineroar receive Pokémon ex cards, type-shifted Tera Pokémon ex continue the Terastal theme, and Illustration Rares provide artwork-focused cards across numerous generations.

Then there is the return of ACE SPEC cards, which makes Temporal Forces particularly significant within the wider Scarlet & Violet Series. Their powerful effects and one-per-deck restriction introduced another layer of strategy that continued into subsequent expansions.

With 36 booster packs inside every factory-sealed Booster Box, Temporal Forces provides the complete pack-opening format for exploring SV05.

Whether you're chasing Walking Wake ex, Raging Bolt ex, Iron Crown ex, Iron Leaves ex, collecting Paradox Pokémon, searching for Special Illustration Rares, completing an SV05 master set, or adding another Scarlet & Violet Booster Box to your sealed collection, the Pokémon TCG: Scarlet & Violet—Temporal Forces Booster Box is a standout release from the Scarlet & Violet era.
